Version 8.21

InScope-AML version 8.21 will start being rolled out to our cloud environments in March 2026. On-premise environments will receive these updates shortly after and may be updated along with previous versions.

Summary

Malta FIAU REQ 2026

The REQ feature in InScope-AML has undergone several enhancements and additions to help Maltese Subject Persons prepare this year’s Risk Evaluation Questionnaire (REQ) submissions more efficiently.

Additional Comments field on questions

Users going through the REQ wizard in the system can now enter comments. Each question now comes with its own comment text field. These comment fields are independent of the question’s answers, and can be edited and saved at any time, regardless of whether the answer to the question is locked. The comment fields themselves cannot be locked as part of the question.

The ‘Comments’ box appears beneath the answer of each question. It can be edited by clicking the ‘Edit’ button in the top-right corner of the box.

Once a comment has been entered, it can simply be saved by clicking ‘Save’ in the top right corner of the box, or discarded by clicking on ‘Cancel’.

This comment field allows users to provide additional explanations or a rationale for how certain answers were selected. It also allows the input of information, for the sake of having everything in one place, even for customer-related questions that usually don’t have data stored in the system.

Option to Export All REQ data

A new functionality has been added that allows users to export all data from the REQ wizard as an excel worksheet. This export includes a summary sheet with the environment name, the REQ year and template used, the time and day of export, and the total number of active questions exported.

In this worksheet, there is a separate sheet for each question, which includes the question description, any relevant notes, the comments field, and a list of all the underlying data that makes up the answer to the question.

This data can be exported at any time within the REQ wizard. To export it, click on ‘Export All’ in the top right corner of the wizard.

This export allows compliance teams to review and organise their REQ reporting data outside the system when preparing their final submission. The document can be shared internally for review or sign-off and provides a clear audit trail by showing the underlying data supporting each reported figure.

Country List Updates

Country lists used within the REQ reporting logic have been updated in line with the FATF and EU Commission publications as at the end of last year, aligning with FIAU requirements.

Support for Additional REQ Templates

Starting from 2026’s reporting cycle, support has been introduced for two additional REQ templates:

These templates align with the specific question sets published by the FIAU for these specific license categories. InScope-AML is committed to supporting Malta’s regulated sectors and our expanding client base.

To access these templates from within the system, navigate to the ‘Reports’ tab, then head to the ‘REQ’ section. From here, you may click on ‘Add REQ’ to add a new template.
